GOODBYE 2008

Can this year be over any sooner??? Starting from a canceled flight at the beginning of the year to a non-existent new years eve, I don't think 2008 was meant for me. So thank god for 2009, new president and hopefully positive changes that come with it, along with a fresh start in Rome I can't wait to be there with new adventures to come!

Some fave pics of 2008:

Post Christmas laughter

So before Christmas I was in Fideaux, an upscale pet store in St. Helena, where I found this amazing santa hat. I almost went for the yamikah (spelling?) but I knew that wouldn't fly with the Jewish friends, so Santa hat it was. and MAN did Sammy rock that hat like nobodys business. Christmas eve AND Christmas day. Rockstar.

O-kai-ri!

Back from Japan!
Always a good time, some things I learned:
<-- dont eat cake with worms

<-- volcanic springs stink like hell, especially when wet

<-- Don't get drunk on trains, you will make a mess

On the other side of the Pacific...

Finally made it through finals, packed, drove to California, unpacked, re-packed, and now I am in Japan!  Tokyo to be exact, I was dumb and forgot my photo uploader thingee so no piccies until I come back.  But there was a flight attendant on our flight who reminded me exactly of Ms Swan from Mad TV, hilarious!

on a more Optimistic note...

Last weekend I was at home when Leo passed away, so in a way I was lucky I was able to spend time with him before he passed on Sunday...

Friday was my Mom's bday, so we went to San Fran to the De Young Museum to see the Yves Saint Laurant collection on display, so many amazing clothes it was great. Def check it out if you are in the area.

We also went to the new California Academy of Sciences across the street, it was incredible to say the least. They have a living sustainable roof, so that from the sky it is supposed to blend in with the scenery, a-mazing. Inside there is a rainforest area, it was too crowded so we only saw it from the outside, the aquarium is also worth checking out with the rad albino croc...

And of course, always eating well while at home, we went to Ame for my Mom's bday dinner. Cuddlefish noodles with uni and some black cod = sea in my stomach. yum.

R.I.P. Leo

you were an awesome dog and taken away from us way too soon. We will miss you.

fun fun fun!

photos as promised from the Diplo Concert, it looks like we are on stage because WE WERE! haha

So many concerts, so little time...

why is it that every time fall rolls around, every artist decides to go on tour, ALL AT THE SAME TIME??? Every night this past week was an amazing concert, I only got to go to two. Although I have to say I'm happy with the choices:
Crystal Castles was A-mazing, the opener was too emo and slow for my liking but Crystal Castles was everything I expected and more!
Diplo for Halloween = too much fun, dancing on stage and listening to awesome djing, including an Obama version of a Lil' Wayne song and my personal favorite, electric feel by mgmt!
Photos to come...

how do you even remember that you have a blog?

I forgot I had a blog... wow I'm off to a great start.
Why is it that 9 months out of the year no good concert come rolling around, and then in September, October, and November everyone you have been waiting to see all year comes all in those months?? I don't get it, and it hurts my heart that I have to choose concerts :(
Here is a picture I love from the Murs and Kidz in the Hall concert the other weekend at Nectar Lounge, Haley's dream come true, AND she got a pic in front of her idols tour bus (even though I only got MUR in it haha)

Good stuff to listen to (in the chilly seattle fall)

Who doesn't enjoy a fuzzy playlist to listen to while braving freezing Seattle fall?
1. Kids (MGMT)
2. Nighttiming (Coconut Records)
3. Sound the Alarm (Thievery Corporation)
4. Electric Feel (MGMT)
5. Gravity's Rainbow (The Klaxons)
6. Radio Retaliation (Thievery Corporation)
7. Crying (TV on the Radio)
8. Something is not Right with me (Cold War Kids)
9. Use Somebody (Kings of Leon)
10. Everything (Murs)
11. You Don't Know me (feat Regina Spektor) Ben Folds
12. West Coast (Coconut Records)
13. Flip Ya Lid (Nightmares on Wax)
